We’ve put together a comprehensive rug size guide to help you explore sizes for your space.

Bedroom

A 9x12' rug can fit perfectly in a spacious bedroom with a king or queen sized bed. For example, when placed under a king bed and two nightstands, a 9x12’ will have ~2 ft of rug on either side of the bed.

Living Room

A 9x12' rug can be a great choice for a larger size living room. They work perfect for larger, L-shaped sofas and can anchor your seating area, while also leaving enough room around the edges for the flooring to show.

Dining Room

A 9x12' rug can work great for large dining tables with 8-10 chairs, no matter the shape (square, rectangular, circular, or oval). A rectangular-shaped table can be ideal for a 9x12’ if you want enough room to pull out all of the chairs without crossing the edge of the rug.

Bedroom

An 8x10' works perfectly in a bedroom with a king, queen, or full sized bed. For example, when used with a queen, an 8x10’ will have ~2 ft on either side of the rug, which works perfectly with two nightstands.

Living Room

An 8x10’ is the most versatile and common size for living rooms. While they are highly adaptable, 8x10's are perfectly suited for rooms with 2-3 seater sofas (with or without accent chairs) and can even be used with L-shaped sofas.

Dining Room

An 8x10’ is best for medium sized dining tables with 6-8 chairs or less. No matter the shape of the table (rectangular, square, circular, or oval), an 8x10' will suit your needs.

Bedroom

A 6x9’ works perfectly at the foot of a king or queen sized bed. It can be partially under the bed (as shown in the diagram) or simply placed at the foot of the bed. When used with a queen (as shown in the diagram), a 6x9’ will have ~1.5 ft on either side of the bed.

Living Room

A 6x9’ works well in smaller to mid sized living rooms. 6x9's are perfectly suited for rooms with 2-3 seater sofas (with or without accent chairs) and can even be used with L-shaped sofas.

Dining Room

An 6x9’ is best for smaller sized dining tables with 4-6 chairs or less. No matter the shape of the table (rectangular, square, circular, or oval), a 6x9' will suit your needs.

5x7’ rug

Bedroom

A 5x7’ works perfectly at the foot of a queen or full sized bed. It can be partially under the bed (as shown in the diagram) or simply placed at the foot of the bed without overlap.

Living Room

In smaller living rooms, a 5x7' will fit nicely underneath a coffee table, with or without two accent chairs. 5x7’s can also work well in other open spaces within a living room, such as in front of a fireplace or adjacent to the seating area.

Kitchen

A 5x7’ is great for larger kitchens with open floor plans. Tumble rugs are perfect for kitchens given their spillproof surface and cushioned rug pad for those long nights cooking.

Bedroom

A 3x5’ is a great addition next to any sized bed, creating a soft cushioned surface to start your day with.

Mudroom / Entryway

Tumble rugs are designed for highly trafficked areas, perfect for muddy boots or dirty paws.

Kitchen

A 3x5' is perfect in front of any kitchen sink or stove. Tumble rugs are perfect for kitchens given their spillproof surface and cushioned rug pad for those long nights cooking.

Kitchen

Runners are an ideal addition to any narrow kitchen. We particularly love runners because they can make small spaces feel bigger and brighter. Tumble rugs are perfect for kitchens given their spillproof surface and cushioned rug pad for those long nights cooking.

Hallway

Runners are best suited for long, narrow spaces, capable of elevating even the most simple hallways. Tumble rugs are designed for those highly trafficked areas, given their spillproof construction and machine washability.
